Reuse or Recycle
To be very frank back home recycle was just a word used in English dictionary and never used in real life. Since I moved to Canada I have started to feel we take our Mother Nature for granted and started taking some steps to protect it. I know I am just a teeny tiny person what difference would it make but I am sure it does coz I have a whole group of people who are following my path or im following theirs.
Reusing Tea Cups as a planter
It first struck me when I just couldnt give up this beautiful David's tea and just wanted to put it to use. I used it to start my spice supply. I started off with basil and it looks very beautiful. My next was chives and mint.
Reusing the cartons we get from bakery cakes:
These are the perfect suze to grow fenugreek, spinach, cilantro, mint, radish etc. I already have one batch of fenugreek, started spinach on a new one. Its amazing how well these can be used. Also I use the small ones as a pot saucer to collect access water from ruining your porch or ground.
Old tupperware as planters:
When we used to live in an appartment all our pulses went in different containers coz the pantry size was different and after we purchased this house I couldn't use them much as the cabinets that hold most of our groccery are not straight so I got new ones. I reused the old pulses boxes as new planters. They are perfect to plant onions, zuchini, garlic etc.
Old tupperware as laundry lint cleaner:
The same boxes with lids I am using as lint bin to throw away access lint in my launtry its a perfect size and I can reuse it again and again.
Diaper boxes as toy and clothes storage:
I reuse diaper boxes to keep my sons old toys and cloths. A mother doesnt like to throw away her only sons cloths just yet. I have no idea when ill be ready fro this. Soon probably...
Luggage to store seasonal cloths:
At our house old my spring cleaning first starts with putting away all our winter jackets and shoes until snow hits us again. Since we do alot of international traveling I keep all these in travel luggage until the next snow hits us or if we need to use the luggae again I
simply put it in old pillow cases.
simply put it in old pillow cases.
Store plastic bags for bathroom garbage bags:
Normally we always keep our reusable grocery bags with us while shopping but there are days we dont or forget for some reason. I use the store bags as garbage bags for my bathroom dushbins. They are the perfect size and saves you alot of money.
